Ø As part of its corporate social responsibility,
Konkan Railway has undertaken a project that will draw more migratory birds to
Carambolim Lake in North Goa and help increase their population. The project
will also beautify the area. The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited
chairman and Managing Director met Goa government’s Principal Chief Conservator
of Forests recently to lay down the project’s road map. The idea was
that since the Karmali station on Konkan Railway route is adjoining the
Carambolim lake, increasing green cover alongside the railway station would
help in attracting migratory birds.
