Ø The fourth edition of India Aviation-2014 began on a colourful note in Hyederabad with
Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh announcing that the government envisaged an
investment of $12.1 billion in airports during 12{+t}{+h}plan as Indian
aviation market was poised to become the third largest by 2020.
Ø The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded former IPS officer Suresh Khopade from Baramati, which has NCP leader Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule
as the sitting MP. Ms. Sule is likely to be re-nominated by her party.

Reconnaissance organisation, or NTRO, operates a
fleet of 12 Israeli-made Searcher
tactical drones for surveillance of the vast forest tracts on the Andhra
Pradesh-Orissa-Chhattisgarh border, home to the largest Maoist formations in the
country.

The National Investigation
Agency (NIA), in coordination with Chhattisgarh’s special investigation team,
will probe the killing of 15 security personnel and a civilian in a Maoist
ambush in Sukma district.
Ø Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) has been given the
accredited status for PGPEX (MBA) and PGP (MBM) programmes by the Association
of MBAs (AMBA) for five years. Created in 1967, AMBA is the global standard for
all MBA, DBA and MBM programmes. They
(AMBA) accredit programmes at over 200 business schools in more than 70
different countries.
