Ø  The National Gallery of Australia has surrendered to the Indian claim that a Chola-era Nataraja that it acquired for (A) $5.6 million had indeed been stolen from a village temple in Tamil Nadu, paving the way for an early return of the idol to India.

Ø  Fifteen high-ranking Russians and Ukrainians have been targeted in the third round of sanctions slapped against Russia by the European Union. The senior-most of those whose names were announced on April 29 by the EU is General Valery Vasilevich Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who was “responsible for the massive deployment of Russian troops along the border with Ukraine and lack of de-escalation of the situation,” says the text of the EU decision published in the EU Official Journal.
