Ø The former Intelligence Bureau chief, Ajit Kumar Doval, is tipped to be
the country’s new National Security Adviser (NSA). Mr. Doval, a 1968 batch
Kerala cadre IPS officer, is also director of the New Delhi-based think-tank
Vivekananda International Foundation. The new NSA will be part of the Indian
delegation in the new Prime Minister’s meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister
Nawaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Ø Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi is likely to succeed G.E. Vahanvati as the next Attorney-General.
Ø The committee to review governance of boards of public sector banks
headed by former Axis Bank Chairman and Managing Director P. J. Nayak submitted its report a few days before the announcement of election
results.
