Ø India continues winning spree at Glassgow. Shreyasi

bagged medals in the women’s and men’s double
trap events respectively. Punam Yadav wins a bronze in the 63-kg women’s weightlifting
event.
Ø With the objective of promoting a paperless
regime and better human resource management, the Department of Personnel and
Training (DoPT) has launched an e-service
record book portal for government employees. Under the
personnel information management system of e-office, the DoPT has extended the
facility to its employees to view their service book online. All the other
ministries have been advised to extend the facility to the civilian employees
working under them.
Ø Three Nepali women have successfully climbed
K2, the world’s second-highest mountain and considered to be the most difficult.
The ascent came as Pakistan celebrated the 1954 feat of two Italian climbers
who were the first to reach the 8,611-metre peak. A separate team of
Nepali women, Maya Sherpa, Dawa Yanjung Sherpa and Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, climbed
the mountain.
