5 JULY 2014: Goa governor Bharat Vir Wanchhoo quits after CBI quizzing him

Ø  The Enforcement Directorate has registered a money laundering case against retired Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi and others in connection with the alleged payment of over €21.4 million by AgustaWestland to IDS Infotech India and its erstwhile Tunisia subsidiary.
Ø  Goa Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo, who was quizzed by a team of the Central Bureau of Investigation at the Raj Bhavan as a “witness” in AgustaWestland Chopper deal scam, submitted his resignation.

Ø  The landmark Express Towers building in Nariman Point, once the tallest building in South Asia, has been sold for close to Rs. 870 crore.

Ø  The government on Friday dispatched a special Air India plane to Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan to bring back the 46 nurses released by their captors.
